2022 Annual Meeting COVID-19 Safety Information
May 10-13, 2022
Newport New Marriott at City Center, Newport News, VA
MAAFS will be following guidance from the CDC, WHO, and government authorities to determine the safety protocols which will be in place during the MAAFS Annual Meeting. Please keep checking back for updates as the event approaches.

Currently, Virginia has no specific restrictions in place regarding mask-wearing or gatherings. However, for the safety of our community, MAAFS will be taking the following steps to ensure the health and safety of our attendees.
-
While in the MAAFS area of the convention center, all MAAFS attendees are encouraged to wear a mask, except while eating, drinking, or giving a presentation, regardless of vaccination status. MAAFS will provide a mask to all attendees at check-in.
-
Microphones and podiums will be sanitized between presenters.
-
Conference rooms capacities will be capped at approximately 50%.
-
The Exhibit hall will be set up with additional space between vendor booths, and tape lines will be used to designate 6ft between the attendee and the vendor during conversations.
-
Hand sanitizer will be available throughout the venue.
-
There will be no hospitality suite.

While we will not be checking vaccination status for attendance, we hope that as a community of scientists, everyone will respect the health of all attendees by ensuring that you are fully vaccinated prior to attending, or are tested for COVID-19 prior to arrival if vaccination is not possible.
